"On behalf of the children and families at Chris Evert Children’s Hospital, thank you so much for your donation of toys. Your gifts brought so many smiles. We truly appreciate your thoughts of kindness and generosity. It is wonderful to know that there are people in the community who care about the special needs of hospitalized children.”
— Chris Evert Children’s Hospital, Fort Lauderdale, Florida
What we do
The Smiling Faces Forever Foundation raises funds to purchase toys for children in Broward County, FL, hospitals during the Christmas and Easter holidays. Foundation volunteers deliver the unwrapped toys to the children. We also purchase and distribute backpacks and school supplies to children in need at the beginning of each school year.
Why we do it
We care about children. Giving a gift to a child spending the holidays in a hospital brightens their stay and gives them comfort. We provide assistance for children whose families cannot afford toys, school supplies, food and other necessitities.
Who we help
Founded in 2001, by Joe and Carolyn McCahon, Smiling Faces has expanded its reach and has delivered toys to children at Broward General Hospital, Memorial Regional Hospital, Coral Springs Medical Center, Chris Evert Children's Hospital and Plantation General Hospital. We also work with Family Central, Jewish Adoption and Foster Care Options, and hospice groups.
We help children to smile…while they are in hospitals and at school.
Since 2001, the volunteers at the Smiling Faces Forever Foundation have helped kids in hospitals smile during Christmas and Easter by delivering toys, and by donating backpacks filled with school supplies at the start of the school year.
The Smiling Faces Forever Foundation held its 14th Annual Toy Drive / Fund Raiser on Friday, Nov. 6, at 6 p.m. at the Downtowner Saloon, 10 S. New River Drive East, Ft. Lauderdale. For information about the event call: 954.585.1080.
